As I watched this video emotions began to swell up within me. They were derived from a number of thoughts ranging from how awful this girl must have felt to just how simple and nonchalantly we could behave as a society, as humans, in this day of disconnected reality and digital lives. Does anyone really deserve this type of treatment?
Thank God for people like Lizzie Velasquez.
If humanity was to have any sign of hope after the constant stream of absolutely ridiculous behavior Lizzie would be it. In the face of 4 million views and almost 100% bandwagon support of her public humiliation she had saved face, by turning the other cheek. You see, Lizze Velasquez was born with a rare disease which does not allow her to gain weight. This disease results in her weighting very little even though her body size developed to a normal size. This disease from birth was no doing of Lizzie, or anyone else’s for that matter and is absolutely uncontrollable. The “Worlds Ugliest Women” “Worlds Best Soul” teaches us a lesson on humanity. And it is exactly this lesson on humanity that we need at times like this. What does it say about us when the person we tried to do away with is the one who acts the way we should. You really need to let that sink in. And I do attribute this shameful act on behalf of all those who participated and even suggested she commit suicide to all of us, to our entire society, for breeding and cultivating this culture of apathy and disrespect.
Your now a role model Lizze Velasquez, and you really did earn it. We here at The Great Revolutionary would like to wish you the very best in doing your work, as you slowly teach the strong and beautiful and wise just how feeble and weak we really are where it really counts. Bring down the false house of cards which this world puts its trust in. God Bless You!
You win our “The Great Revolutionary” hero’s award!
