Our lives are constantly in an experiment with faith. A faithful or faithless lifestyle can be understood through a glass of water. The glass represents our faith. The water represents our hope. First we must understand that there is no other type of faith, but real faith. You can’t have a half-hearted belief, otherwise it is not faith. There is real faith and there is dead faith.
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1). Examine two points here, “hope” and “confidence” must go hand-in-hand to create the faith. When a glass is being filled with water it may or may not reach the lid. “Hope” works in the same manner. Though we may not have the confident belief in our hope immediately, we do have that “hope” which we must cultivate and build to reach faith- a confident assurance in what we hope for. As we place our trust and hope in God, the water is being filled. That hope will reach its maturity and create faith in you, or in other words a revelation.
Many things seem impossible to a man, especially when God calls him to a certain work. However, it is the man’s responsibility to keep trusting God and placing His hope in Christ, which will lead to a full glass of water creating in him faith! You can also understand this by relating “revelation” to it. For example, a revelation must occur for a healing to take place. This is not always the case when one is receiving prayer, but I find it is very much critical. One may to an extent receive a healing and etc. but to stay in divine health and procreate a lifestyle of spirit-living, the individual must live in revelation.
A full cup represents mature faith. God builds mature faith in us. If our faith is not full in that which we ask, we should not hope to receive it. “Let him who asks, believe and have no doubt” (James 1:6).
In the same manner, faith operates. You see, faith is only faith when it is “without wavering.” Faith without works is obsolete (James 2:17). It is in operable until it reaches the “lid.”
For those who haven’t grasped the concept yet- the lid represents the tipping point of your faith. It represents ‘proven trust’ in God. It is at the tipping point that proves you are still relying on God. Many ask God for certain miracles and works in their lives, but if they ask today, believe for tomorrow, but lose hope after that- how successful can that faith be?
There are many elements to understand here. The fundamentals are as follows:
#1 Without faith it is impossible to please God
#2 He who believes must believe and not doubt
#3 Faith allows God to move
a) We have a free will
b) Believing is trusting
c) Trust invites God in
If we believe for God to act or carry out His work in our lifetimes, dare to believe how critical your personal faith is. We can assume God will do what He must regardless but I just don’t believe Jesus spoke in vain when He said:
And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief. (Matthew 13:58)
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt. (James 1:6)
Anyone who comes to God must believe that He exists and rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6).
Faith also expedites events. Believing for a loved one to change? Are you praying for them- casting down strongholds that hold power over them? Are you blessing them and proclaiming the authority of Christ over them? My friends we must pray and believe without wavering that He who holds the power is just and able to do all that we ask in His name. And He does not wish for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9).
Pray my friends, pray! He is on His throne and is able to do exceedingly more than you can think or ask (Ephesians 3:20). I have heard too many stories and testimonies of God’s power when people stood in faith.
Andrew Wommack was interceding for it to rain in a season of drought. It wasn’t until he aggressively took it upon himself to pray and intercede for the rain that something began to happen. For three days, during his prayer, the clouds would come, darken and thunder, but it would not rain. Not even a drizzle. Wommack recalled how he began to feel the Holy Spirit empowering Him through the prayer. On the third day, the clouds came in again, brewing and thundering, and all of a sudden,it began to rain. It rained steadily for three whole days, and did not cause any downpours. God is good! Not only does He come on time, but in the best fashion possible!
Wommack stated that because He began to pray and believe for it, the rain would have surely come, but it might have come days or weeks later, but the crop needed the rain within days or it would spoil. Faith has a tipping point.
Michael Walker from The Q997 radio station recalled how they stood believing for their pledge drive goal. Several days passed and they were still only halfway with a day or so left. The staff stood believing, encouraging one another, not allowing doubt to creep in. It was fascinating to hear that, because most of us would rather let our guard down, because faith makes you vulnerable, you set yourself up for an expectation you yourself cannot meet. Therefore, you need God to come through. That’s the definition of faith.
As the Q997 team stood in faith with a day or so left, they collected, I believe, more than they did in the past 2 or 3 days. I’m telling you… when God moves… He moves. It’s almost a funny illustration, but I believe it drives a point. I can imagine God watching as His faithful ones stand in the gap believing and God begins to look down and realize there are no human resources for the timing needed. He sees His children have believed Him to the end, reaching the tipping point, and according to His word, He promised faith would have its reward. Therefore, God nudges His heavenly resources over His throne to fall from heaven to earth to meet His children’s request!
We must realize, it is humanly impossible for certain events to take place or certain events to occur. The more we experience those positions of need, the more we can see God work in our lives. Dare to believe!
What does all of this mean for us today? Let’s go back to the glass of water analogy. The water represents ‘hope’ and ‘trust’ in God. Though you are not able to believe in something God said or is saying or for something you are asking, you can make a decision to ‘hope’ in Him. It is that decision to trust God will reveal and work in your life.
Only a revelation can give you a ‘faith’ that does not waver. A revelation is reflection of your spirit man. It gives you the ability to believe in the impossibilities of God. It is a spiritual work and nothing of your doing.
For example, let’s take our ability to believe that God loves us. How do we attain a position where we are fully convinced God loves us? We can say we believe, but if you actually believed, 99% of your day would be overwhelmed with peace and joy. But how much joy and peace do we experience in our daily lives oppose to anxiety and worry? Can you imagine the change in an individual who constantly meditates on the love of God- coming to a point where he has no doubt that an almighty God of great impossibilities loves him. It will change his entire perspective and Christ promised nothing short of that.
So today, do you want to attain that position of power and be fully convinced God loves you? First we must understand that we do not control revelation. So you must realize right now that youcannot give yourself a revelation of God’s love. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. But what you must do is place your hope and trust in God to reveal it to you. That is your responsibility!
Let go of that pressure to try and believe Biblical truths. Fear not, “I have overcome the world ” (John 16:33). Who has overcome? Christ. Not you. So then, it is Christ who will reveal it to you. Christ is the One with the victory. All you have to do is “hope in Him.”
As you keep placing that hope in Him, you are filling a glass of water. When the water reaches the lid, you will receive a revelation of what you are hoping and trusting for. For example, you believe God can heal you of your disease, but why aren’t you getting healed? It is because you don’t fully believe it yet. Your job is to keep placing your hope in Christ as your deliverer. By doing this, you are trusting in what God has said regarding your wellness. And as you continue in this hope, you will come to a realization of the truth. It is in a sense fighting through the soulish man. It is a process of renewing your mind to the Word of God and as you do that, revelation is sure to come.
There is no minimum or maximum time length that you must put in for something to occur because once faith reaches the tipping point it can’t go anywhere else but over. God moves based on your belief in Him. Belief in Him- faith- is only truly faith when it does not doubt.
When you receive a revelation, you receive faith, and faith moves mountains. Thus, you have reached the tipping point. Stand back and watch as God works.
